"I was very impressed with the quality of education that I received; the beautiful surroundings;
and the opportunities to integrate into Israeli society.
The combined experience of studying in Israel with distinguished faculty, meeting students from other parts
of the world, and becoming a part of Israeli life is something that will always stay with me."

Admissions Process

OVERVIEW

Students applying to either TAU’s undergraduate study abroad programs or the graduate overseas programs may submit a paper-version of the application by mail to their designated Office of Academic Affairs. In addition, U.S. students may utilize the online application system available through the OSP Portal.

Undergraduate study abroad students may enroll in Tel Aviv University’s semester or yearlong OSP programs either independently or through their home school. TAU has built many partnerships with major institutions of higher education in the United States and around the world. Information on such affiliations and TAU’s accreditation is listed for reference.

In addition, qualified high school seniors may apply to spend their first semester or year at Tel Aviv University. Please note that for freshman year applicants, additional admission materials are required.

TAU CREDIT TRANSFER

Undergraduate students who are applying through their home school must ensure transfer of both credit and financial-aid as part of their application to Tel Aviv University. Students who apply to Tel Aviv University independently are encouraged to request a detailed course pre-approval from their dean or study-abroad director.

ULPAN PREREQUISITE

While all courses on the Overseas Program are taught in English, the Intensive Hebrew Language Course (Ulpan) is required. The course is about 6 weeks long (shorter in the winter) and must be completed prior to the beginning of the semester. The course is worth 6 academic credits. Only students who demonstrate proficiency in Hebrew by passing a written exam prior to their departure are exempt. Hebrew language instruction may be continued during the semester as part of the student's course load (not to the exclusion of participation in the Ulpan prior to the semester).
