"I came to study for the summer, and loved it so much that I came back
in the spring. The classes were really interesting, the teachers were
great, and the madrichim were amazing. I learned so much and really
enjoyed my time at TAU, I wish I had been there in the fall and I would have stayed the whole year"

Group Flight

DETAILS

The U.S. Office of Academic Affairs arranges at least two group flights out of New York City each year. For exact dates, please refer to our calendar or your Student Handbook.

The group flights are managed by our affiliated travel agency, Gil Travel. Tickets are discounted student tickets, open-ended, and non-stop on El Al Airlines. The group is accompanied by a representative from the NY office and is welcomed in Tel Aviv by the OSP staff. Ground transportation is also provided to all group-flight participants.

While the group flight is optional, please consider the following benefits:

:: A TAU representative from New York accompanies all students on the group flight to Israel.
:: Group flight participants fly with fellow overseas students.
:: All flights are non-stop on one of the best and safest airlines in the world.
:: Students are allowed one extra piece of luggage (3 instead of 2).
:: Students are greeted by OSP counselors (madrichim) and Gil Travel staff members at Ben Gurion Airport.
:: Organized ground transportation directly to campus is provided.

Important: In order to register for the group flight, you need to complete the registration form that you received with your Student Handbook (i.e., welcome packet), and return directly to Gil Travel.

STUDENTS ARRIVING INDEPENDENTLY

Students making their own travel arrangements should try to arrive at the dormitories between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on the same day as the Group Flight participants. Students exempt from the Ulpan should arrive one week prior to the start of the semester.

If students arrive outside of OSP office hours, arrangements should be made in advance with the Office of Academic Affairs in New York.

The dormitories are located in the vicinity of Tel Aviv University’s main campus in Ramat Aviv, the suburb just north of Tel Aviv. Buses 27 and 74 (departing from the Central Bus Station in Tel Aviv) and Bus 25 (departing from the center of the city) offer direct and frequent service. Reasonably-priced taxi services are available to the Tel Aviv University campus from Ben-Gurion Airport and from the Central Bus Station.

Upon arrival at the university, check in with the Overseas School office located at the Carter Building in the center of campus. Room assignments are arranged by the office in Israel.

The telephone number of the OSP office, open Sunday to Thursday between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., is (03) 640-8639.
